Marc by Marc Jacobs
Rag & Bone
Looking through all the recent 2014 Resort collections on Style.com my favourite designers never cease to disappoint. Here i've narrowed down my favourite looks from their collections (it was so hard to pick favourites.) Phillip Lim believes that no one has time to travel anymore and therefore has created a collection for the modern women describing it as "one to wear as you play while you work, or work while you play." This is one of my favourite collections as it is so clean and crisp with bright hues and leathers, keeping it minimalistic. Helmut Lang did their resort collection in a sophisticated and street style way, its not your usual Resort collection that is vacation ready and bursting in tropical colours. Their collection was heavy in leather, snakeskin and monochrome. (three of my favourites so i'm definitely not complaining.) Chloè focused most of her collection on the pants. The trousers came in a few different variations for the collection- high waisted, mens suit style, cropped, and pleated. I love the 'girl dressing like boy' motif that many designers have taken on board this year. I have a soft spot for coats and box-shaped tops that Chloè nailed so well. Ellery's Resort collection was another favourite- Feminine silhouettes and the perfect amount of skin baring. Wang focussed on creating the perfect basics- low slung baggy leather pants (drool) and asymmetrical skirts along with the perfect knit- what else do you really need? Marc by Marc Jacobs is again not so much your typical tropical getaway Resort collection. Its described as a 'Buy now, wear now' line and focuses on 'looking cosy' whilst still looking smart - offering faux furs and houndstooth patterns. And finally Rag & Bone- another favourite refreshing (chic) collection that focuses on simplicity. Again I'm drooling on the coats.
